I found something today that I thought I had lost forever

Last edited Sat Oct 19, 2019, 06:02 PM - Edit history (1)

In my life, I have gathered little, if any, moss.

What little moss I had was stored in my parent's attic for decades.

When my parents sold their house, Move Out Day was chaos.

I ended up with dozens of unmarked boxes in my basement and attic.

I went through all of them looking for my most irreplaceable shreds of moss - and found nothing.

Today I grabbed one of the 8 ice coolers I've accumulated over the years and heard a rattling sound inside....

I opened it up and there they were!

My framed Arctic Circle Crossing certificate

My framed Equator Crossing certificate

My framed Antarctic Circle Crossing certificate

My framed National Science Foundation Antarctica Service Medal certificate - signed by Rita Colwell

and my framed Honorary Newfoundlander certificate (Screech In Ceremony)

Just finished hanging them on my Wall of Shame

Nope, don't have a basement. sinkingfeeling Oct 2019 #5
I'm sure it was very logical for you to store them in a cooler. Fla Dem Oct 2019 #6

1. Compared to a box the cooler was probably more structurally sound.
2. Most of the certificates related to an activity in a very cold region of earth, and you didn't want them to melt.

Glad you found them. All very monumental achievements.
