Strange experience meeting people..people survive..

I was in rehab a few weeks ago, and met someone by accident that I had hoped to meet someday. She was a survivor of
Aushchwitz. This women was taken by the Nazis at age 15, after her parents were killed. A very optimistic woman whose beliefs included living each day as best as one can. I think she is 87. (not sure exactly) She was not bitter at all and was sharp.

A week or so later, (a day or so after getting out of rehab) I was visiting a friend of mine who had invited a lady she had worked with to her house. I did not know it, but the person invited was a survivor of Hiroshima. It seems that the way that
the supports of house that she was living in collaped around her and her family saved them. They somehow created an air pocket of protection from the blast and the radiation. She was a couple of miles away from the blast... She said she remembered little as she was a baby. But her family survived. She is 66. (at least this is what we were told)

These meetings took place in March
It is odd to meet two people who are living examples of something very very special. Sometimes we need to know there are such individuals just to get through each day...I had never met either a survivor of Auschwitz or a survivor of Hiroshima. For some reason this came to mind to share. (perhaps it was hyphenate's post about An Inspiring Women) thanks for reading this. I guess I need to
post this now.

He was a little more than a year old when the bomb blew away his house, as well as his older sister, who was outside playing and didn't have a chance. His older brother was at school and survived, but it took several days for the surviving family members to find each other. They ended up spending a couple of months or more living in the hills around Hiroshima.
