Once or twice a month a get a call from someone who wants me to change it to their middle name or their kid's name or something equally stupid.

I ask them if they can at least throw in some numbers and uppercase letters, so what do they do? They capitalize the first letter and add something like "123" to the end.

Even back in the '80s, Compuserve used to assign passwords made up of two random common words, separated by a random punctuation symbol.

I still remember the password "enema-cowboy" to this day because of the arresting image it conjured up.

... it's like poetry: "hireme", "fuckmylife", "iminhell"? There's a heartbreaking back story to those, I bet.

But I like a more positive password, like "gonefishing".

Anyway, the link in the OP indicated that my password was stolen, so I changed it. Now it's "takingawalk". Nobody'll guess it.

we had to change our passwords every three months. I hated it because I would forget the next day. So, I kept a list at my desk of the words I had used. Having the list right there defeats the purpose of having an absolute secure password. But hey, I'm retired now and don't have to think about it any more. Yea!

When I pay the gas bill online, that is ALWAYS the confirmation code. I'm not kidding. It's been like that for years.
