They appear at low tide embedded in clay. They are hollow and have little dried semen beads that harden into a resonant globule. They are known as pearl drops among the locals. Even broken ones can fetch a large amount on the grey market. An intact specimen like that is nearly priceless!.

I know they can be shaken or "played" and not all are wooden.
