It's too early in the morning for me to be this sentimental!
I've only had coffee, no adult beverages.

I have had chickens for years and there is always a few in every flock that insist on hugs, kisses and being carted around the yard. In my current flock, we have two...Nora and Pot Pie....they love to be held and will cross the snowy divide between their coop and the back door to tell me just that. Pot Pie likes to sit on my shoulder.

When we brought home 3 day old chicks last winter, this little Red Star was a lovey dovey right from the start. She wanted to sit on everyone's shoulder and would hang out in a shoe box on the kitchen counter while I cooked dinner, where I believe she was christened Pot Pie. It stuck.

IMO we need to stop torturing them for eggs & meat (and yes I am a vegan). The horrors they endure in factory farms are unimaginable.
