What is the most recent findings about COFFEE?

I've read that it is the greatest thing you can consume in one study and "not so fast" in another.

I am addicted to it, in a way. I like it in every way possible and use all the different creamers for extra flavoring (Vanilla is my fave at the moment). I like coffee flavored things also like ice cream (which I pair sometimes with almond milk. I pair with chocolate but I'm careful on the chocolate.)

What's the latest findings on the benefits/problems with coffee?

Also, my cup is empty, so thank you to remind me to make some more findings.

controlled hypertension and related elevated pressure conditions, including glaucoma.

That's for fully caffeinated coffee. Once you add cream, artificial creamers and sugar, you have to look at those factors separately. All things fine in moderation, I suspect....

But I won't get into a debate, the Lounge is lighthearted.

But anyway, I will share this. When I was younger worked in a diner as a waiter and then manager and I saw the crazy addiction level coffee brought. People just had to have their coffee in the morning. "Hi, may I get you something to drink?" I said. "COFFEE!!!" was usually the answer. They could not function without it, and once they got it, they became far more friendly. It's as if it were some sort of drug. It really rubbed me forever the wrong way on coffee.

I do occasional enjoy a Starbucks specialty coffee drink, but that's about three times a year at best.

and those studies are consistent. Contradictory "studies" exist in almost any area or issue of a scientific or medical study. Just the fact they pop up from time to time is fairly meaningless if the overwhelming majority of well-conducted studies are consistent. It is a statistical truism that occasional results occur from chance alone.

I have known a few people that eschew coffee or any caffeine-containing products. My first long term relationship used to drink cereal-based caffeine free Postum (bleah!) and yeah, it is still around. Good for them, but as """"addictions""" go, coffee is not a particularly bad one to have. Although I can understand an aversion to coffee breath.

He runs a chain of coffee shops throughout Latin America.

I was gobsmacked with nostalgia upon encountering a Juan Valdez cafe on a visit to Colombia some years ago, and now there is one in the Miami Airport:

I guess he needs to stay at the airport in case any beans turn ripe back on the plantation.

Now that the government and the FARC have reached terms, Juan got paid to get rid of the coca plants and get back to coffee.

Seriously, I don't listen to anything they tell me not to do. I do what I want....always have, always will. I've made to 65 that way, I'm in better condition than most my age, take no prescription drugs at all, have no known health issues and I'm fit as a fiddle. I
drink 2-4 cups of coffee a day, smoke a pack and a half of cigs a day, smoke pot daily, eat fairly healthy but do not drink alcohol. I've outlived my dad, granddad, and great granddad. If I drop dead tomorrow...no regrets...I did it my way. Whatever is good today seems to be bad for you tomorrow, so who the hell you gonna believe?
It may be genes, maybe not, I don't know. Don't really care. We're only here a very brief time.

I put Coffee Mate Natural Bliss in mine (flavors: Natural, Vanilla, Caramel, or Hazelnut). I usually drink a cup in the morning. I always have a cup when dining out. Even with Mexican or Asian food and I only put half and half in. Most restaurants make fairly decent coffee. ☕️ Some Japanese restaurants do not serve coffee then I have green or jasmine tea.
