We always went to a store called 'Smith Bridgman's Department Store' in downtown Flint, to give Santa our list. I have such great memories of that place. It was open for over 118 years. My mouth still waters when I remember the ice cream filled cream puffs with hot fudge sauce and whipped cream, that they sold at the mezzanine lunch counter.
The Santa that followed the one in this photo was a friend of my dad's. So, when we walked up to him, he'd give his best Santa greeting "HELLOOOOOOO, Frank!! How have these kids been behaving???" AND he knew my name before I could even say it. Yea, there's no question that we really and truly believed in Santa Claus.
Anyway, this is me, way back then. I'm guessing I was 3 or 4.

(7,595 posts)For some strange reason, I don't have any childhood photos with Santa.
But since we're sharing, I do have some childhood photos during my tap dancing and ballet days.
My best friend, growing up, danced ballet. I think of her every time I see the movie, 'The Turning Point' because she looked so much like Leslie Browne.
I believe I quit when I was 8 years old. As an adult, I wish that I had continued with ballet.
I'm interested in watching The Turning Point, it's on my to watch list.

(15,536 posts)I do have one somewhere, but only one and I'm about 3 or 4 in it also. It is very similar to yours in that I'm bundled up in those old itchy wool coats, leggings, mittens boots and hat, and I'm sure I was sweltering in that department store waiting for Santa.
Great Santa too! Thanks for sharing.
