Just discovered Dornford Yates---Barry books similar to Wodehouse, Chandos books to the Saint books

This essay Dornford Yates and the Clubland Heroes at mysteryfile.com and the Wikipedia entry seem good introductions

Anyone here familiar with his work?

ETA---was a cousin of HHMunro (Saki), author of short story The Open Window

Carr is an acquired taste. Some I really like. Others just so so. His book on Arthur Conan Doyle is great.

Duffy I discovered relatively recently. Like so many series books, I found the 1st one--A Murder of Crows-- great, the rest up and down.

...and I love Crooked Hinge, for its outrageous ending. Carr is an old favorite, along with Ellery Queen, who's been unjustly forgotten...
