Teen reunited with long-lost cat while volunteering at animal shelter

This story is a couple weeks old but I did a search and it didn't appear at DU. It's a Christmas miracle type of story and it's just too fortuitous not to post.

An Oregon teen got an early Christmas miracle last week when she was reunited with her long-lost cat while volunteering at a local animal shelter.

Hannah Rountree was volunteering at the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center in Roseburg, Ore., when she spotted a furr-miliar face. One of the kitties in the shelter’s catio was Spunky — her cat who had run away three years ago while the family was away on vacation.

“I was like, is that my cat? It literally looks so much like Spunky,” the 15-year-old told the local NBC news affiliate.

It was indeed Spunky.
