Do Else Chang and Mary Louise Kelly sound to you like they're talking to toddlers?

These All Things Considered hosts, along with a couple on our local NPR station make me crazy. When/why did this start? Their voices go up and down like they're trying to cojole 3 year olds to get interested in something. Do you agree?

It makes me crazy!

I've been trying to figure out what is so annoying about All Things Considered lately. You might have hit the nail on the head.

Haven't lived in the U.S. for decades so can't say anything about now, but was brought up on it, loved the content, but for some reason the way hosts spoke annoyed me. Lots of mannerisms, sort of snobby and artificial -- I don't know, it bugged me.
