... The Edge from U2. Our rhythm player used to play
a LOT in that style. I remember going to his house to
write music with him -- we'd get stoned and he would
sometimes play like that for hours (and I could LISTEN
to him play like that for hours -- he also turned me on
to Dead Can Dance... slip in one of their CD's and come
back to reality an hour or more later). We had some really
nonproductive writing sessions that were not the least
bit wasted at all.

Funny... not a big U2 fan, so I never made the connection...
though I did realize he was close to a dead ringer for
Slash -- so he had some sort of affinity for oddly-named
guitarists.
