5. Thousands Waiting For Power Restoration In Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With wind gusts forecast up to 65 mph Monday, power outages almost seem inevitable. Around the region, electricity companies are reporting customers without power.

In the mid-Hudson Valley, Central Hudson, as of around 10 a.m., is reporting 99 outages, affecting more than 5,800 customers throughout its service area.

In Dutchess County, there are more than 3,400 customers waiting for the lights to come back on, with Fishkill the most severe at 1,353. Restoration is thought to be by mid-afternoon.
