It's the dialogue, I think, that will make the show work. Not the sex.

Outside of being exploited as wage slaves, agonizing over their amateurishly haphazard relationships with others, lurking through the complex maze of commercialized spirituality, finding different ways to alter their consciousness, creating transparent personas in social media to hide their epidemic level absences of self-esteem, coping with the dearth of economic opportunities and figuring out ways to succumb to demographic mass marketing, the ONE thing that people of that age are MOST obsessed about is having as many awkward sexual contacts with each other as possible.

The tension between the sexual contacts of the characters are like milestones that the viewers need in order to create and gauge context in the storyline.

Now, it's true that most people watching the program will not find themselves empathizing with the characters due to the fact of complete writer contrivization…

Just go with the idea that your own real life follows a more natural path instead of some formulaic pattern of at least one and a half awkward sexual contacts in the span of thirty minutes.

The son I can figure, but the husband??? I guess I should be glad they're natural looking neurotics and not plastic porn stars, but

And even if someone were, then it's about time. Kind of a shallow statement don't you think?
