Growing old with Bob Seger

I was in grade school when he first started out in the 60's and I had a chance to see him and the Silver Bullet Band play in Marquette but didn't.

...as a grade school kid and then a tweener.

I remember hearing 'Night Moves' and only being old enough to have a sort of ephemeral sense of why it was such a cool song. Puberty was still a couple years away.

and I'm not sure it was the SBB, at a catholic school dance in the early '70's.

I grew up outside Ann Arbor.

I know he played at my (catholic) high school before I attended that school. We had bands every Friday night for decades.

from my house.

Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes lived in my hometown area and used to play the NG Armory about once a month. That guy is a total asshat.

I was about 16 or so when Against the wind came out. I just thought it was a cool song I didn't get it till I was about 40. Then I thought it was even cooler

Not only a brutally honest yet exquisite singer/songwriter - but quite the unappreciated poet, to boot!
