(20,176 posts)3. So how hard is it to learn Danish?
I mean the culture seems more me, the women are pretty, the economy is healthier.
I really think I want to move to an EU nation on the continent.

(77,056 posts)4. I visited Copenhagen.....and looking at written Danish.....
...... and hearing it spoken left me saying, "WTF!?! That word doesn't sound like it looks."
Luckily, almost all the (very friendly, very happy) Danes I encountered spoke English, and spoke it well.

(2,560 posts)5. A friend of mine lived in Denmark for a year and he said the hardest thing about speaking Danish
is getting the Danes to speak Danish.
I had the same problem speaking Dutch. As soon as they worked out I was an English speaker, they went into English. I've had conversations in which I spoke Dutch and the person I was speaking to spoke English. And when all else failed, I spoke English...with a strong Glaswegian accent.
