Lol, most of the cats in my life have been like, "I'll show up when I'm good and ready!", and then make their appearance like they're not really interested. Exceptions were when they heard food being opened.

they are often close by because they follow me around.

It was hilarious to watch their confusion when they could not find me. I loved their happy victory dance when they did finally find me.
