How cool ... Amazon just refunded me for a return and I didn't even send it back!

It was just a $10 adapter cable, I'm sure 'cost' is like $.75 or something but yeah ... I asked for a refund, put in 'bought by mistake' (it was not what I though it was) and a few days later they just gave me my money back, never asked me to return it.

That is very cool in my book.

Amazon purchases. Apparently it isn't worth the cost involved to have you ship whatever it is that you bought so they tell you to keep the thing (or give it away) and refund your $$ anyway.

but I have to repackage and return via UPS or I'll be charged for the replacement. It is probably costing them more to have the item returned than it is worth.

working, yet they are sending a replacement BEFORE I send this one back. If you've been a PRIME member for a while, they tend to extend benefit-of-the-doubt more often it appears.

Not everything about Amazon is negative, though I acknowledge the many issues that it poses as an employee-exploiting mega monopoly.

4. My family got me an 86-CD limited edition classical music set for Father's Day two years ago.

Cost $150.

Unfortunately, the set arrived slightly damaged - the outer CD case was cracked. I called amazon CS to ask about returning the set for a replacement. After checking my Prime account and the order placed by my son, the CS rep made me an offer I couldn't refuse: keep the set and amazon would refund the full purchase price including tax and shipping.

I said yes. Pretty great CS.

5. WOW! That is no joke ... That wasn't a $10 S-video to Component Video adapter

'Cost' was almost surely NOT 75 cents or so for that set.

Very cool.

I needed to furnish an apartment in NYC for a year. I rented some things and bought others. I ordered a sofa from AllModern.com

The sofa arrived on schedule and the delivery guys put it together. The problem is that it was missing arms. I called and asked them to send the missing arms. A very pleasant rep told me that particular vendor didn’t send out just parts but they would send me an entirely new sofa no problem. I said no thank you because I didn’t want to wait for it and figured I would buy one the next day at IKEA. I asked what do I do with the armless one I had. He said mark your calendar for 3 weeks from now, if the company hasn’t contacted you by then to arrange a return it’s yours to do whatever you want with it.

They never contacted me, and I figured I could do without arms for a year. Upon leaving NYC I gave the sofa away so it is probably still in productive use 🙂. I’ve since bought a number of things from them.

Just recently for a WF delivery, they did not pack the frozen foods, and dairy in insulated bags and
the driver did not wear a mask. When I complained they refunded over $56 dollars in groceries even
though I did not ask for a refund and the food was still usable.

A year ago, I ordered four 8 ounce tins of tea; they sent four Kilos! They told me to just keep
them at no charge.

They are very easy to work with; not so much the third party vendors on Amazon. They
can be challenging.

I consider it good business practice - don’t pay shipping unnecessarily and foster positive customer relations.
