The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsAin't that a kick in the head? I was just told I'm the #1 provider in patient satisfaction.
Company-wide, best in the patient satisfaction survey second quarter in a row.
I think I needed to hear that. I've been so burned out lately, wondering if I'm really doing any good or making a difference.
I guess being able to unburden myself to all of you here means I don't take my frustrations out on my patients.
And for that, I'm deeply grateful to you.
I love you all...

Aristus
(66,095 posts)please refrain from saying "Oh! Just one more thing!" as the provider is headed out the door to his next patient visit.

Aristus
(66,095 posts)I've worked with a number of ARNP's in the past. (I'm currently at a solo clinic.)
Starting in November, I will be precepting brand-new ARNP's through their residency program. I expect it will be learning experience for me as well as for them.

Now that I'm a patient instead of a nurse, I appreciate anyone who doesn't make me feel like a lump of meat on a conveyor belt, something the shitty US medical system has done to most of us.

(66,095 posts)A side benefit of my longevity with the company, and my high rating with my patients, is that I never have to ask for a raise. Every so often, I get a letter from admin announcing a raise, and that's that. I guess they want to keep me happy.
Turnover of medical providers at our company is so high, they need a revolving door. The main clinic in our group, right around the corner from the homeless clinic, lost a provider just the other day. The grapevine said she had emerged from the regional manager's office in tears. Not everyone is up to the stress of high productivity requirements.
