Great zoom interview today with a company who actually needs my niche skills. Pitched my salary at about 20K lower than my last job, told them, I would expect in contract, within a year they would be increasing my salary as I kicked arse on profitably. We will see, but I need to get back to work, and I am really positive about this. I think they really appreciated my skills set, and that I was willing to forgo my usual remuneration until I proved my worth. Huzzah! Fingers crossed people, I get out of my flat, and get to use my brain again. This might be the start of something really positive.

(149,522 posts)I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it! You make your own luck! And I mean that in the best possible way!
They'd be lucky to have you and no question about that!
Do let us know, OK?

(9,685 posts)I really hope I get the offer. I think I did good, but who knows
Soph0571
(9,685 posts)I don't think they would do that unless they want to discuss an offer. Hell, I have spent my career phoning people to offer a job, and emailing when they didn't get it!!!! Slightly anxious that they come back with a low offer that I have to turn down though. Fingers crossed
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,522 posts)I hope their offer will meet your needs so that you can accept!
Thanks for letting me know. flamin lib and I are looking forward to a better path forward for YOU!

(9,685 posts)I am going to the office Monday to meet with the COO to look each other in the eye and talk strategy and market penetration, so either they are about to suck my knowledge dry for free, or if I fit, an offer will be made. Feeling quite chipper about it.

(9,685 posts)11 am GMT - so I guess you will all wake to me wailing or celebrating. Though they want to talk on the phone so I am hoping there is a offer. I know the Chairwomen of the company rather well but I am having a phone meeting with the COO. If they were going to tell me to do one I think the Chairwoman would have contacted me directly. Or maybe I am over thinking it! I sooooo need some good news. 2020 has been horrid and 2021 is also going to be shit so I need to get my big brain back to work.

I think your approach is perfect. Acknowledge the market is soft but tell them what you're worth up front and can PROVE it. Invest in me and collect the dividends that will pay for my promotion!
