(25,908 posts)Some had guacamole, some had hummus. It took every last ounce of self-restraint to stop before dinner was served.

(12,265 posts)I got to my auntie's house and unpacked the food I brought. My cousin came in and went "fabulous she is here with the eggs", he then spit it out in the trash and said "how dare you change grannies recipe"! So I went back to the old tried and true granny version. . When we are not going to the family I make my more tasty ones with chopped jalapenos a little onion, and thousand island dressing.

(14,818 posts)when we'd get to our Aunt's house (my mom's sister) for summer or other holiday get-togethers it was Our Duty (sis sez we also brought the special glass egg holder dishes) to place the eggs halves in, and dole out the deviled eggs yolks into them. Add a bit of sweet paprika on top.
Sometimes I think we made them there, too.
Our recipe was usually eggs yolks, Hellman's mayo, mustard powder, maybe a touch of salt. (and paprika)
Good times! 🙂
