Tishman, the property manager, emailed everyone to say that out of an abundance of caution, they will board up the retail shops to prepare for unrest in the coming days. They are working closely with the NYPD to increase police presence around the property.
They encourage companies to make their own best choice about people being in the office.

It's believable that a group of criminally-minded Texas rednecks would drive from Waco to Austin.
Waco to Midtown Manhattan sounds like a bit of a stretch.
