Trader Joe's usually has them in a delft blue container at Christmas time.
They are yummy. We had them in Amsterdam.

Not only did the contestants have trouble making the very thin waffles, my memory is that every single one of them crystallized the caramel.

There are tons of videos about stroopwafels on YouTube, a whole bunch in Dutch. A number of them have people trying to make them. I didn't take the time to watch them, I was searching for the Baking Show episode, which I didn't find.

My memory is not all that good. During our construction, my husband and I had the habit of watching the show each evening, streaming it on BritBox. For some odd reason, they have the order of the seasons backwards so we watched the newer shows for a couple of seasons, then jumped back to the oldest ones to watch in order.

At the end we watched the last two or three seasons over again. I think the stroopwafel episode was in one of those seasons, so it's only been a couple of months.

The last details were finished last week - now we can each be in our own areas, and are working our asses off sorting everything out. We put 2/3 of our house in storage since they had to tear the roof back to do the addition. We're trying to de-clutter but since the reason for the addition was to hold furniture and family records from both sides of the family (we lost both our mothers in 2017 and 2018 and had to empty both their houses) de-cluttering is not happening much.

At least we are too busy to be able to spend much time worrying about the election aftermath, and too tired every night to lose sleep over it.

Or even if you don't for that matter.

Pronunciation is roughly: stroap - WAH ful.

You put them over your tea or coffee cup so the heat from the drink can warm them up and melt the caramel between the waffels. Very cozy ritual.
