I used to have a glass of wine 2-3 nights a week, maybe a gin and tonic on a hot summer day.

Now, I have a glass of wine nearly every night.

I pat myself on the back on any evening that I choose NOT to.

I have to stay hydrated or I'll be sick. Can't do alcohol but there's plenty of green stuff that is consumed most of my waking hours of late.

Yesterday, after I got home from errands, I had a shot of vodka to sanitize my gullet (wink, wink)

Today, I had Sparkling Ice lemonade and rum for recreational purposes

... to convince me that I don't particularly care for alcohol. I'll confess to having 2 or 3 beers in a years time, but even that doesn't happen every year.

When I was much younger, we could all be demons! But I settled down quite a bit over the years. I have gone months without a drink, but boy, for some reason, it is good medicine this week

I am absolutely drinking heavily, but not for no reason... It helps me cope with the virulent Trumpism infecting my red, rural area, from which there has been little relief for the past few years. It may go a bit underground temporarily, which will provide my liver a welcomed break, but AA is not in my future.

My only problem is all the liquor stores are frequented by the unmasked masses, so I'm trying to figure out how to make 'toilet wine' - failing, and thinking about ordering online.

After spending Sunday hungover, I've been dry since.

Friday, I drank out of frustration.

Saturday, it was to celebrate.
