Dreading the 10 o'clock rule today.

The unofficial rule in the ‘burbs that says no noise making activities until 10 especially on a Sunday. I have a LOT of leaves to corral at least. If I can get them bagged great but I’m just going for getting them onto to tarps.

I see leaves falling as I sit here. Falling, forever falling. I’d say we are about half way through emptying the trees.

Currently there is a dog who has me pinned down in the recliner.

Are you dreading corralling the leaves, or the 10:00 noise ban is delaying your efforts to begin? Fla Dem Nov 2020 #6

then the little creatures of the ground will have toasty homes for the winter AND you can watch the leaves fall knowing that all is well.

If the later I can't imagine bagging leaves would create that much noise that you would be violating a "unofficial" rule. It's 10:00 on the East Coast, so by all means commence operations.

It's like "Happy Hour", it's 4:00 somewhere.

Cleaned out the gutters, collected the excess leaves from maple and black walnut, next day yard covered again.
If you ever had a black walnut tree you know the “stems” where the leaves grow were all over. Cleaned them up a little...then the winds came from the west...strong, fast almost constant. Gusts to 50-70 mph.. leaves went on a trip to the east neighbor. They always leave till spring.
I wouldn’t clean the leaves if they were not black walnut, those leaves have a chemical in them as the whole tree does, juglone. Kinda ruins my “grass” if I leave them in place.

Done!

especially after the hustle and bustle of the city during the day. There's almost always noise in the city and it's almost a shock to sit outside later in the evening, and literally not hear anything (lets say 10 p.m. or later)...and kind of relaxing.

We (landlady and me) went straight from leaves and snow messing up our walkways to preparing to remove about 80ft of chain link fencing so a massive crane cane drive onto the front lawn to fetch a tree out of three other trees before it falls on our house! It's actually like two forty+ ft trees since it was a double trunk that is now two pieces suspended in the trees next to it. Fun times. The crane will arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. At least the pros are young guys thrilled by the challenge!

I'll be taking pictures.

I cut any big noise (for example, vacuuming) at 21:00 (nine PM)

of course, I am routinely wakened at noon by fucking LEAF BLOWERS
