Bringing in the groceries

Well, I got tired of trying to juggle while bringing in the groceries. It's gotten downright tricky, what with using a cane and dragging along an oxygen supply. I finally relented and got one of those wire "granny" carts, and it's been a help. But there's still the cane, and the oxygen's shoulder strap never stays put.

Anyway, I was cruising around on craigslist and came across a picture of a bicycle. What caught my eye was the basket attached to the handlebars. Aha! So I did some shopping online and found one; it arrived, and it was easy to attach it to the front of the cart. Now I can load the cart with groceries, and use the basket to hold my oxygen and purse. Sweet!

Just wanted to share in case someone else suffers similar juggling deficiency.

Life (and grocery shopping) has been challenging enough during the pandemic. Enjoy your new wheels.

Hang some large S-hooks on the outside of your cart to carry even more shopping bags. Use the S-hooks to attach a large net/mesh laundry bag to the front of your cart to hold larger, longer or bulky items.

It did occur to me that the carabiners would be more expensive. But I thought of them because they'd probably hold the bags more securely than the S-hooks. I guess if the bags are weighty enough, they'll pull the S-hooks down and be fairly secure anyway.

to attach your purse so it can’t be easily snatched? I use the child seatbelt on the grocery cart when I’m shopping.

I don't happen to have your limitations, but I've seen plenty of people with them.

I recall one of the first times I saw walker with a seat, and all I could think was Wow! What a fantastic idea!

In all honestly, given how very many people have such limitations, there ought to be very many such things.

I might want to check them out.

My latest concession to self help needs was getting the grabber.
It's like a cane with sturdy pinch grab at the end, so I can pick up stuff
without having to creakily contort my body. Real good for some things
too high on the shelf,too.

Just did a google search for 'shopping cart', and went from there. I think it was around $25. Since then, a couple of friends have purchased theirs from Walmart.
