I seem to remember the one's that seemed like a fire extinguisher going off and displacing all oxygen in the immediate vicinity, but can't remember their names.

(30,947 posts)I know because I still buy it. Best hair spray ever for fine hair like mine. I just don't use it near an open flame.

(3,879 posts)called Style-Lac. Water would bead up on your hair, and it required heavy brushing before shampooing to remove it. My mother LOVED it.

(21,046 posts)i came along a bit after the ratted sprayed bubble hairdos. I can't stand to have hair I can't comb through, though I will use a bit of hair spray on my thick wavy springy curly hair (thank Goddess!)
I was into the late 60s-early 70s long straight hippie dippie hair.
I have a pic of myself with hair about 4 inches below my shoulders and I remember it was impossible to wash and it was heavy.
I remember washing my hair every night in the shower, because it was greasy, and my grandmother saying "You're gonna RUIN your hair!!"
I never found out what that meant.
