Things are rough on us all!

I know for me it's trying to get stuff done for the government agencies in the time they want stuff done because the Covid rules are blocking me in many ways. It's their rules but they say it's not a excuse. But they make me wait, doesn't hurt them.

Also getting out and about. Bus drivers get upset that they have to open the front door for me because of my walker. They make me feel like I need to apologise for being disabled.

Oh, and then there is those that just won't keep a 6 foot distance. Not in stores, not anywhere. If their not going to wear a mask, they can at least stay away from people!

I know that we all are having issues and I'm not alone in this. But at times I feel so alone. It's like so much of the world can't seem to understand how hard they making it on others.

Why can't other people and the government understand?

Yeah I'm feeling really down and alone right now. Just hoping that others out there knows what I'm feeling I guess...

In the best of times we aren't that nice.
I hope you'll feel better tomorrow.
Your attitude makes more difference in how you feel than other's actions.
Take care.

The upset Drivers on my way to more or less fight for more time to get the paperwork from another department because of how much time it's going to take them to get it to me because of, you guess it, Covid. And all those people that won't keep their distance or wear a mask.

All of them make it very hard to have a positive attitude.

I keep having dreams surrounded by lots of people, none of whom are wearing masks.
I keep asking them to put on their masks and they look at me like I am nuts.
Then I panic because I cannot find my mask.

I then in my dreams try to get a Covid vaccine. The doctors give me BS reasons why I cannot get the shot.

No one seems to understand what I am going through in my dreams, and that I am alone.
The very same thing you are stating in your OP.

This pandemic and quarantine is taking a big toll on many of us right now.

or a distraction.

Can you take a day to do something fun?
Watch a movie or read a book.
I have some good friends and we periodically talk on the phone.

Take some time for you, do something that is fun for you.

That's all I can do. I've watched a lot of movies, and have read all my books I have right now. There's only so many times one can read the "The Art of War".

I just have to wait till things get safer so I can try to get out and about.

Hopefully we will get the vaccine at some point and have more freedom.
I am looking forward to walking around IKEA.
Or sitting in a coffee shop and people watching.
Such simple things I took for granted.

I shouldn't be a cry baby about it. Everyone else is dealing with it. I'm just feeling the pressure of it I guess.

DU is only place I have to vent. I know everyone is probably tiered of hearing me whine about it. If I had the cheese to go with all this whine. We all could have one great party!

It's a live, 24-hour webcam at a cat rescue in Ohio. I have watched it for years, and I know the names of most of the cats and most of the humans who work there. Many of the cats are special needs - missing some parts, or blind or deaf, and several have cerebellar hypoplasia, which is kind of like cerebral palsy. There is also a small dog who hangs out with them. They have a huge following and people come from all over the country (and Canada) to adopt cats or just hang out and pet them. It makes me happy to watch them. Most of the cats are sleeping right now but when a bunch of them get going it's fun to see.

You remind me of my disabled sister......Type 1 diabetic with multiple amputations, in a wheelchair. The amount of paperwork she had to keep up with was mind-boggling....Medicare, Medicaid, you name it. We lost her several years ago.

She lived alone with the cats, watched tons of TV. But she also started writing books. She studied architecture at the local college. I don't know what she would have made of the current Covid situation. She was immune compromised from a kidney transplant.

But I'm sure she would have felt helpless and alone too. There is no excuse for the non-masked to endanger the rest of us. My husband makes the weekly grocery runs now. He entertains himself by throwing his hands over his face, and running with his cart in the opposite direction when an un-masked walks down the aisle.

I admire your courage and persistence. Feel better. We are here for you.

One more day. Can we make it?
The Great Nothingness bombards us while Massive Cruel Chaos numbs us.
The Internet saves my soul (google duo with young grandkids too far way) and scares the hell out of me, too.
One more day. We can make it. Can’t we?
You are being heard.
I am supremely glad we have DU. I am glad you are here.
And though I know all to well the loneliness spoken of, I know I am NOT alone...in spirit...
Just really, really removed.
It’s rough.

We're a long way from the country we ought to be, but some areas seem to help more than others. Here in the Tacoma area, we have a county-wide ride service provided by our metro bus service people. It provides rides to the doctor's office, dentist office, legal offices, etc. for IIRC, $1 fare each way. This ride is on a Pierce County marked vehicle, usually a lift-equipped van or small bus. You may have a similar service provided in your area. Tucson area, right? I did a google search for "Tucson metro mobility for disabled" and this is what came up:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Tucson+metro+mobility+for+disabled&oq=Tucson+metro+mobility+for+disabled&aqs=chrome..69i57.23871j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

You may find a better service from one of these listings. Good luck to you and I hope today gets better for you.
