To get the vaccine out? Only 8% of people in my state have received a first dose.

I would do physical exams for young guys getting their boxing licenses.

I stopped doing it. Seeing these sweet, polite young men in the peak of physical condition heading for a life of pain and cognitive dysfunction broke my heart.

15. I know, some years back, I went to a conference on head trauma in adolescents.

Mostly football players.

The conference leaders talked about the immense damage done, long term impact, and how to treat it.

I was the only one who said the answer is easy.
These kids should not be playing tackle football.

Offering young kids a choice between lucid poverty and wealth and TBI is nonsense.

Europe’s soccer stars are now earning million-dollar salaries. There’s no reason we can’t become a soccer country.

Or a way to make people feel reassured.
Or for the seat cushion factories to make money.

If a plane goes down and you can use the flotation devices, you have hit the airplane crash lottery.

Guessing at least maybe a handful of people had the wherewithal to think 'Ya know, I'ma just grab this real quick before I get out of this plane that's filling with water and probably about to sink!'

It seemed to be a very orderly cabin evacuation, I wonder if they did take flotations devices with them.
The crew would have told them exactly what to do.
Would they stop to take items or just bug out fast.

29. Most of the time if an airplane ditches in the ocean there's too much damage

for either the airplane or the passengers to survive. When the A320 ditched in the Hudson River they were able to land slow and flat (no waves as in the ocean) so the airplane stayed relatively intact until the passengers were able to get out without getting wet or having to use the seat cushions.

They were lucky all the way around.

I grew up as an USAF brat, flew on airplanes from an early age. Listening to all the
military fliers talk, and knowing about planes going down, my understanding of air flight
danger was quite realistic.
