Finally, I have a Covid-19 vaccine appointment!!!

It's the Moderna baby, a very cool pharmaceutical design. I can't wait!

It's Saturday morning. I have to miss Science on Saturday's lecture which is about viral host shifting, but I'm kind of generally aware of the topic in any case.

I am an old fat guy in declining health, so this makes me quite happy, since I'm still very interested in living a bit longer. In terms of "bargaining" in confronting death, I'd love to live to give my son a hard time at his thesis defense for his Ph.D., and he's just started graduate school. (We'll see though, bargaining with death doesn't usually go very far.)

You will feel such a sense of relief. I was dancing after just getting my husband his first appointment. Since he married a spring chicken, I hope to get mine by early summer 🙂

4. My wife is younger than me too, but like you, she's happy her husband's getting it.

She's a little worried about how it will interfere with another health issue I'm having, but I'm not worried at all.

I know some people who took a bit of a wallop from the Moderna vaccine, but I'm fine with it. A little discomfort is well worth the risk avoidance.

I’ve heard the second can be worse. Will post an update if he has any significant reaction.

10. I'm not worried. My sister in law had Covid, but was required to get the vaccine anyway.

She's a hospital employee.

For her, the Covid was severe, and she was very sick but not enough to be hospitalized. She recovered nicely.

She said the first vaccine dose was like having Covid all over again, but only for a day, and the second dose, a little less rough, but she's fine.

To paraphrase Janis Joplin, "She got 'dem Ole Kozmik Cytokine Blues Again."

I think it is the responsibility of everyone who can get the vaccine to do so. I'm thrilled to participate in this international effort if all it takes is a little stab in the arm, and maybe, just maybe, a little cytokine surfing.

but DH and I have to take a second little road trip into a remote rural area of the state...hope availability will be there on schedule. With a more speedy roll-out of available doses...well, we shall see!

Today DH got a cell message to schedule a 1st shot, LOL, through a different, more local venue (hospital network) - none for me, evidently. Too soon for 2nd shot anyway!

My shoulder was a little sore when I woke up this morning, but it's already feeling better.

Like me, you may come home and feel more relaxed knowing you’re just 28 days away from the #2 lifesaver shot. Good luck.

Next Tuesday afternoon at Rite-Aid, Moderna. Immediately went online to book a ticket to fly and see my mother in AZ, who has been going downhill for the past two weeks after a fall. Time is of the essence!
