Got a surprise bonus from work today.

$750.00 Out of the blue! Just had to share my good news. Signed on to ADP to check my paycheck and in addition was my bonus!!

It couldn't have come at a better time as the back of my wooden privacy fence was rotten and we did not realize it. A neighbor frantically knocked on our door Saturday evening and told us that our dog had poked a hole through it and she was afraid they would get out and attack her children. I shored it up as best I could and we got it fixed on Monday after having to take out a payday loan.

So, there's my good news for the week.

I don't care. It's exactly what we needed to pay for the fence!

I am more than certain you deserve it. Especially given how you need it.

In similar news, I am needing serious and major dental work (don't ask) but luckily I have been saving money for the last year or so which will cover it. I feel very fortunate that I can pay for this. I am all too aware that others are not so fortunate. Much of my life I have been very poor, and when in high school depended on a Catholic Charity to pay for needed dental work. For a number of years, when I gave money to the United Way, I made sure my donation was given directly to that specific charity.

Did you get your relief check? I hope so.

Mine was already spent before we found out about the fence. Credit card bills, a doctor bill, some new clothes we hadn't been able to buy, some pet needs. We have 5 dogs and 5 cats. We rescue animals. I guess this is Mother Gaia's way of paying me back for taking care of them.

Funny thing is I checked ADP for my paycheck which was supposed to be more than 750. At first I was upset, then I read bonus. I refreshed the page and my pay stub was there too. This company has never given bonuses to me before. I'm still a little flummoxed, 😆

directly deposited to my checking account very early on.

While I am not, by most standards, rich, I live very modestly, which means I can afford what I need. And for the past year or more I've been able to divert excess money to savings, which is quite welcome, what with this significant dental expense.

None are aggressive, but I certainly understood her concern. We have five dogs. We don't want any tension with our neighbors. We have a doggie door and they come and go as they please. We let them bark during the day, but don't allow them to bark past 8-9 o'clock at night. We've lived here 11 years and no complaints from anyone.

but what would make them think that non agressive dogs might hurt their kids? Are they just not dog people? What breeds are the dogs?

It's a shame that they finally appreciate me after 4 years and I'm going to go to start a new job soon, making 5 dollars more an hour.

The office has been going to shit. I work as a private duty nurse for an agency and my new supervisor is not very good at her job, on several occasions she has asked me to do some work that she is supposed to do. The turnover has been tremendous this past year and the new hires are lame. It used to be a great place to work and they're gonna miss me.

I'm retired now, but the company I used to work for would give quarterly profit-sharing bonuses. So the first quarter of 2021 just ended, and early April is when the bonuses would be given out. My company didn't give them out every quarter, just the ones that were profitable. It seems the first quarter of each year we always got something extra. Then the 2nd quarter was usually not so great. Anyway, that's a nice thing to receive.
