2. If my tanker buddies from the Army could see me now, they'd laugh themselves silly...

Tankers drink Mad Dog and mass-market beer; that's it.

Trouble is, Mad Dog and corporate piss-water taste terrible!

If I'm going to get a little buzzed, I at least want to enjoy the taste...

8. Well comrade, I have the ingredients for a cocktail inspired with a Communist country name.

Cuban Breeze

1 oz vodka
1 oz Amaretto
3 oz Pineapple Juice

9. YES!

Sounds fantastic! Do Communist countries do cocktails so well because if you drink enough of them, you forget you're living in a Communist country?

10. I did mix up a shot of pineapple juice and amaretto earlier in the week and it tasted good,

so I'll expand my repertoire with this recipe.

As for your comments about Communist countries, I will say perhaps. It did make me curious so I googled North Korean cocktails and stumbled across this which might interest you:

The Seoul Mule

I'll have to try one. I think your keyword search only registered 'Korean'. Seoul is in South Korea...

14. Yes I know, I specified North Korean cocktails in my search.

The other drinks that came up were a 38th Parallel and Korean Ice Tea. It appears that soju is in most Korean cocktails.

12. I vaguely remember our Black Russian walk

Was living in a mid sized Wisconsin town, population 50k ish. One Friday night a buddy and I decided we should walk from my apartment to downtown. Rule was that we had to stop at every tavern we we passed and have a Black Russian. A couple of places did not know how to make them, or what to charge. We provided the recipe, and suggested $3. I recall one tavern mixed with too much Kahlua, had to dilute with vodka to save the drink.

Somehow we did make it downtown. I somehow recall having difficulty getting my jacket on as we waited for the cab to get us back, my buddy pointed out the jacket was upside down. Made it home with my jacket on.

18. Got another week of vacation left.

I'm loving it. Although I'm mindful of an article I read recently that Americans are so brainwashed into being busy, on the job, and 'productive', that we either avoid time off, or feel guilty anytime we're 'doing nothing'.

I'm feeling a little guilty that my entire day is not taken up with chores, errands, and doing stuff. I'm trying to just relax and do as little as possible...

As for The Big Lebowski, I've only seen the film twice. But its penetration into the pop cultural landscape is so pervasive that I know all the quotes, all the memes, etc.

38. The Islays are a lot peatier...smokier....than many other brands.

Some people are put off by that, some find it totally to their liking. Have you ever tasted Glenmorangie? Some of their expressions have a real note of orange, which I find delicious.

41. Glenmorangie

Sounds familiar, but it has been over 15 years.

Made the mistake of not keeping relatively cheap whiskey in stock. Was having a few guests over for cocktails. One was mixing a nice Highland with Coke. What’s a good host to do?

Can get confusing. When we first started our company there were three Bobs out of a total of 11 folks. “Bob, pickup call on line 2”, all three would try to grab the call.

Kahlua sundae? When we lived Toledo, Ohio, there was a restaurant that served them. Not sure what went into the syrup besides Kahlua, but it was really good. I think the Kahlua was mixed with chocolate fudge and cream, but not sure.

They had a goat that gave the BEST milk. Plain yogourt made from her milk was like pudding.
