3. can't really tell. I figured if it was the kitten, the mouth would move a little.

One of those two is upset.

5. Right, I agree, the baby's mouth did not move much.

But I don't know anything about cats or kittens.
I have a little dog.

But right, someone was quite agitated!

6. it's the Mama cat "trilling"

mama cats often "trill" to their kittens.

1. They want you to come along

The Humane Society suggests that trills, as well as chirps, are used by mother cats to tell their kittens to follow them. If your cat is trilling at you, there’s a good chance they’re requesting the same—follow me!

7. Thanks for the blog article. Very interesting.

Can also mean "pay attention" which I think the mama cat was saying to the baby one.

8. After taking care of a mom and her two grown kittens... they were outdoor only in the owner's

Unfenced yard...buying their food, draining abscesses caused by other cats, giving antibiotics, vaccs, wormings, eye repairs from fights...I figured it would be a lot easier on us all if I brought them to my house where they joined the indoor herd. Just the three eat on my kitchen peninsula, where they sit together waiting for food. Mama has never relinquished her parental authority and the kids know better than to get between her and the first plate of food!
