(1,639 posts). . . and thought, maybe, just maybe, the humans filming could have put down the phone or whatever and helped. On the other hand, by allowing the dog to take the lead, there is a better chance for harmony between the two little critters.
It's sort of like telling a child that another baby is on the way. "You're going to be the Big Sister/Brother. Boy, this baby is sure going to look up to you!" Most kids will live up to or down to the expectations we set for them. The humans trusted the doggy and now the pooch will make sure the kitty is safe and happy.

That's you btw implying that the dog could use some help. Not a big deal and not sure why you got your knickers twisted over this.
And i didn't infer anything. I stated that you implied it outright... which is a mite stronger than an inference.

(6,836 posts)except it wasn't a dog, it was another cat - the newcomer was not quite that small - and I didn't see any of the progress, instead went to the door to let the one in and there were two. So it was more like "He followed me home" than "Look what I found."
We rescued many cats, and all of them bonded so well - and this was oveer 40 years ago - that I don't now remember which one brought home whom. I hope that doesn't make me a bad mommy.
