I grew up with sandwiches of PB and sliced sweet onion.

In the states PB is widely used and available.
Here in Uruguay PB not so much, little jars and high prices, so I was pleased that my wife found a market that makes natural PB to order for us.

Dulce de Leche is ubiquitous here, like PB in the USA.

I had this at a meeting for a then upcoming anti-nuke weapons protest back in the '80's.
Then made it myself. 😁

PB+ minced ginger, minced garlic, a splash or so of soy sauce. Finely chopped scallions. mix well. Goes on veggies, if you add a bit or so or water to make more of a soft paste add it over rice. Over chicken. I'd add fresh chopped cilantro, too.
