A slightly soggy Moggy just arrived for brunch

She appeared slightly disgruntled with the weather. I wish I could lure her into the shelter. Maybe I'll try moving it to the bushes. I made it waterproof and the bushes should offer some additional protection.

Also found a food bowl that I'm PRETTY SURE she can't pick up and carry away.

It didn't rain for that long, or even very hard, so she must have been caught by surprise.

They do hate getting wet but she had food and that is so much more than others have.

Is she yours or is she a feral that is yours?

I constantly check to see if she's waiting for food, in the morning. Sometimes she shows up by 6. Sometimes later. They she drops by again for a nosh and some fresh water, mid-afternoon to late afternoon. I think she's sheltering in the overgrown shrubs at my next door neighbor's.

I can get within about 12 inches of her, now, but she's still uncertain as to whether she can trust me, or not. I wonder if maybe she is a long time lost pet. Most of the others FLEE as soon as they spot me, if I'm outside. I just slow blink, and talk really softly to her. Some days she will sit there for as long as I feel like chatting. Today she seemed to have other concerns.

And I refer to her as 'she', even though I'm not 100% sure of the gender. I'm at about 95% because there's still not that 'tail up' indication of comfort level. But I'm trying.

She might just end up being my outdoor cat. Which is fine.

One a beautiful tux who was curious but unsure. He really wanted to be my indoor cat but it took a while. I knew where he lived in the woods by the house, I would meow to him just like he did and he would answer and every time I could hear he was closer. The other guy was and older, a bit beat up but accepted the invite into my sun room for his food fairly quickly. in bad weather I could keep him in there for days. He would decide where he wanted to be and I just let him. I could finally do a tiny bit of stroking his head as he would finally hop up on the bench and relax by me. I got too brave and he laid my hand open in a split second then laid back down. LOL, I still have scars from that. He got a little sickly and I kept him in and fed him more and finally felt he was able to do a TNR, before there was not way on earth he would go near a trap. I hoped that he would be caught easily and vetted but I never saw him again. I miss him so much. We both worked hard to be together then he was gone.

They are all different and sometimes it is hard for me to accept that they just are who they are and let them be, just care for them. I love what you are doing, she just may come around one day and nudge your hand or leg or something and then stop again. Still, she knows you love and care for her and that is the best thing of all. They all deserve that.
