I don't cook the food using engine heat, but I have opened the hood and placed pizzas or other take-out food orders on the flat upper surface of my car's intake manifold/plenum to keep it warm till I'm ready to eat it. A lot of that stuff doesn't re-heat well, and using the oven would heat up the house too much anyway. Why waste a source of good heat?

And I remember the olden days when truckers cooked on the engine.
Right after aluminum foil became available.
So many miles for a steak one one side.
Then stop and flip it.
A few more miles and done.
