The best Houston movie is either "Brewster McCloud" or "The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training."

(57,319 posts)"The Fugitive" is much more about Chicago than "The Blues Brothers" is.
New York City: well, there could be some other contenders for that one.
Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania: other than having been filmed mostly in a suburb of Chicago ...

(4,858 posts)...off the top of my head--Madigan, The Naked City, Dog Day Afternoon, Manhattan, Serpico, Prince of the City, Night Falls on Manhattan, etc, etc. I chose "Pelham" because of its nice, nitty-gritty look at what was, at the time, regarded as an urban hell, and the nice little callous disregard for public safety on the part of everybody--villains and "heroes".

(32,599 posts)My sentimental favorite: Flashdance (not for artistic reasons, the movie is crap.)
Big disappointment: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood because so little of Pittsburgh is shown that it could have been shot on a set in LA. Loved the movie, loved Tom Hanks, but there's almost nothing about Pittsburgh in it.

I know I am going to get a lot of crap for this, but it was such a great tribute to the best of NY. You will only think so if you are the sentimental type.
