Being trapped in the car doesn't much matter -- the adult cicadas don't eat, and heat just makes them more active (unless it gets to the point where you couldn't sit down on the car seats).

Honestly, there should be a decibel level specific to cicadas, and it should be considered a risk factor for hearing loss...

My friend put my cat in his car to get a mouse he could not get out. Just one night was all it took.
