And my own cat was more concerned about the Golden's barks than the tiny kitten was!

I also have a dog who does tend to bark, but the cat's not scared of him in the least. At the moment both of them are stretched out sleeping on different sections of the couch - and my dog is snoring quite loudly.

My dog is much too forgiving with cats -- he lets them bully him off his bed all the time! But he just goes and finds another spot to plop down and resume his nap...

I found one & brought it home until i could find it a home. My cat knew i had it, but it was in a room with the door closed & never made a peep. Slept mostly. But every time i came home MY cat would be on top of the cabinets above the refrigerator. Something she'd NEVER done before. Yet when i got married, she had no problem with my wife's Australian sheep dog from day one. And i've seen her in the backyard 5 ft from a deer just sitting there looking at it.
But lord, that 6oz kitten was a major threat.

There have been many mornings I've awakened to find myself clinging to the edge of the mattress while a 10 pound cat occupied the rest of the bed.

I'm on the edge of the bed and he's laying horizontally on it stretched out taking up almost all the bed .

the fact that the dog was 10 times his/her size. I love Golden Retrievers though, they are such gentle, sweet dogs. In the end, he/she just seemed to go with it.

I chuckled out loud at the part where the kitten was sleeping ON the dog.

And I'm guessing that kitten doesn't weigh more than a couple of pounds, so the dog is probably 30-40 times it's size.
