2. good day here, too

went to the farmer's market this morning, the husband and i rented a paddle boat at the park and then came home for our own tasty sandwiches. the maters from today went on a blt for me and a turkey bacon for the husband.

i have to disturb his nap soon, though, because we've got a party to get to. i think i'd rather wake a sleeping bear.

3. Pig

roast.

Today was my nephew's high school graduation party. Lots of people. Yes, a pig roast (which I did not eat) along with some other great food, like stuffed mushroom caps, cooked jumbo shrimp, bbq'd chicken, salad, desserts, and a bunch of other stuff.

A live band. A pool and giant water slide.

My mom and youngest sister came up from Florida, and my other sister and her daughter were there, along with my son and his family.

We had a most excellent time except for one thing...

My brother wasn't there. He passed away Feb of last year. He would have been very proud of his son...he's a great young man, and going on to college in the fall.

4. My summer Saturday do nothing day.

Just played on DU.

I am waiting for a BBQ sandwich, which should be here anytime now.

A cold beer and sandwich will make me happy.

I have learned to take one day off each week, just for me.

5. Way too hot here in Ottawa at 96 degrees. We are not used to that.

6. Y'all were hotter then Houston.

It was a little rainy so cloud cover did help.

Last week it was so cool I didn't really run the ac, we had a lot of rain.

It was humid today but still I don't think it was 96.

8. All of our grass is yellow. That never happens. We are in a drought.

9. We had that last year.

Grass fires.

I live across the freeway from a really large city park.

It was dry, the trees were dieing.


All it would have taken is for someone to start a fire in the park, everything would have went up.

I am glad that I live on the other side of freeway.

I don't know how that fire would have been put out.

Everything is green now.

7. It was Hallmark Ornament Debut Day!

Hey, be there or be square!

I bought a couple of limited edition ornaments (available today and tomorrow only). And I went to a furniture sale, but didn't buy anything.

We finally got a little rain this morning, but then it was very humid.

10. Yanked some weeds out that have taken over EVERY NOOK AND CRANEY OF MY SIDEWALK!!!

with no rain.....all the weeds are growing like wild fire.....well not like the terrible fires out west, but d*mn they're going fast....WE NEED RAIN!!! I was out for about an hours....and lost at least 10 lbs of water weight....was sweating like a h*ll native.....ugh. I want my 70's back.....I love the 70's.
