Absolutely, re dialogue. Cary Grant was terrific at it. Flaxbee Jul 2012 #10
No, but the short photo caption in our paper implied she was playing Hillary Clinton. True? HopeHoops Jul 2012 #7

on the small screen, too.

Drooling aliens or Russian ass-grabbers, DC hangers-on, ex-husbands and reporters... Which are worse, really?

Aaron Sorkin's excessively talky dialogue irritates me after a while - just like The Newsroom. While I agree with everything that's said, and enjoy the shows - the speechifying - I just want it to stop, sometimes.

And Ciaran Hinds manages his American accent quite well, I think.

a personal story in a political setting-- hardcore political chickflick or even a soap? Whatever you call it, it works.

Terse dialogue is an art-- remember those marvelous comedies from the 40's with the snappy dialogue? I don't mean just the Stooges and Marx brothers, but think Cary Grant and Rosalind Russel, or The Thin Man.

"Bunheads" is another one I found accidentally that has great dialogue. I'm not that much interested in the storylines, but I love to hear them talk their way through it.

(Although, when she spent just a little too much time ripping Carla Gugino a new one, that's the kind of scene that gets you Emmy nominations.)

I had it on my list of new shows to try and I think I'll pass. A few months ago Yahoo had a list of all the new shows coming out this summer and I wrote down 4 that looked decent and that was one of them.

Could be a political chickflick. LOVE Ellen Burstyn. Love her.

Female political candidate (married to two-time popular Democratic president, who also happens to be a prolific two-timer), loses primary race to "Garcetti", divorces husband, becomes Secretary of State. Decides to run for president again.

enjoyable in an entirely different way. Sigourney is always fun to watch, Carla Gugino is good, Ciaran Hinds is good, too.
