(23,587 posts)Unfortunately the parrots behavior would indicate the cat is not well treated. I'm surprised that the owners of the cat and parrot thought this was funny enough to upload to viral hog. Here's the note that was posted with the video.
"Cairo is a 20-year-old Congo African Grey parrot. He lives with 2 cats- Kitty and Max. He has a love-hate relationship with Kitty. Cairo gets irritated with Kittys constant meowing, so its not uncommon to catch him telling her off."
But as some noted in the replies, the parrot learned that behavior from someone.
Lot of replies seem to think it was a riot. Guess I'm just too sensitive.

(12,462 posts)Cats that meow a lot sometimes do it because of anxiety.
So what is making that cat cry?
Sometimes because they are neglected.
Any attention is better than being invisible.
Being told to shut up if they meow emotionally hurts sensitive cats. They know what it means.
Either way poor cats they shouldn't be treated that way.
The owners if they do not really love thier cats and want them to be happy and emotionally healthy then why do they have cats?

(24,287 posts)every time the cat would meow/complain. Perhaps the parrot found the cat annoying and agreed with the human's vocalizations. Struck me as a brilliant parrot moment. No perceived damage to the cat's psyche. He ain't listening, anyway.

(20,482 posts)know my tone of voice. Theyre listening. Sounds to me the ones not listening here are the owners.

(24,287 posts)cats. Had many, but they never cut me up like when I lost one of my dogs. Cats were always welcome in my house. Never expected nor got much, attention.
