Mick Jagger walks into a bar ...

Hat tip, WTOP or CBS radio news

Mick Jagger goes unnoticed at a small North Carolina bar: 'Regular, old bloke'

The Rolling Stones, arguably the greatest rock and roll band in the history of rock and roll, are back on tour right now playing huge football stadiums across the U.S.

Tonight they are in Charlotte to play Bank of America Stadium, where the Carolina Panthers play.

Last night was a night off for the band and Mick Jagger, one of the greatest and most recognizable singers in rock and roll history, decided to check out the town and popped into a small bar for a drink.

Check out this photo he shared on Twitter. It’s so wild to see such a legend just standing there having a drink with others sitting around him with no clue that the legendary singer was nearby.

Out and about last night in Charlotte, NC

I spent a lot of time this morning thinking about that photo and wondering how nobody knew Mick Jagger was right there. Part of me wondered if it was the band’s road crew out with him for the night because nobody seemed to be in awe.

But then we got an answer to this mystery and it’s the one I hoped for:

Co-owner of the Thirsty Beaver Brian Wilson tells me Mick Jagger went unnoticed last night. Turns out the people to the right of him in this photo have floor tickets to the show tonight and they didn’t even realize it was him!

Incredible! They were so close to royalty and didn’t even know it!

You know what’s also incredible? That bar.

what you don't see in this picture:

Too bad that guy didn't get a closer photo. It's hard to tell if that's really Mick Jagger in the dark.

introduced the guitar player as Johnny and I sat watching all night in that smallish venue without knowing it was Johnny Depp.

It does make one feel foolish, but if you don't expect it you don't always see it.

After the show I went to a small hole in the wall bar Uptown named Benny's. A few years after this event the building that housed Benny's just collapsed. When you look up hole in the wall bar, you got a picture of Benny's.

The house band was JD and the Jammers. The dance floor and stage basically merged into one in the small space. About midnight Keith Richards walks in and gets on stage with JD. He totally jammed for the next hour or so. To this day it is one of my favorite musical experiences.
