and having to drift across the Pacific for the titular number of days. This wasn't back in some mists of the past; it happened in 2012!

Eating Dirt by Charlotte Gill. Published about ten years ago. Three quarters of the way through it, a page turner for sure.

It's about the working lives of those who plant trees in large clear cuts. The friend who gave me the book did this for a few years, I found the book describes and clarifies what they told me and what I imagined it was like.

It's a good read, well written.
