(33,643 posts)Also tenderloin filet is kinda overrated.
My faves are rib-eye, then NY/Strip, then bbq'd tri-tip roast, Santa Maria style.
But now I want some steak.

(33,643 posts)But it is a bit unevenly cooked, where the bottom half is less done ... It'd be PERFECT to me if the bottom half mirrored the top half basically.
And filets are still amazing, but they are just kinda missing a certain smell/flavor I associate with 'steak', it's one you get with ribeye and strip steak that filet doesn't have.
Of course a nice Porterhouse/T-Bone gives you the best of both worlds!

(9,258 posts)DH likes it that way. Had the pleasure of a truly delicious and perfectly prepared well-done filet at Firebirds recently, it can be done.

(22,243 posts)steak eaters. I have to put his on the grill at least 15 minutes then turn it before I even start mine. Even with all of that, sometimes he will put it in the microwave. There shall be no pink in his beef.

There are so many more... Like the ones above.
But, that OP steak looks perfect to me.
