Except she was looking for a place to nap. Zowie had run of the house, and I could never find her when I came home from work until one day I needed something from the junk drawer in the kitchen. Opened it up, and there she was nestled tightly in with all the junk. She was opening the lower cabinet, jumping onto the upper shelf, going to the back, jumping up and grabbing the back of the drawer and pulling herself in. I took her out, went back to my home office, and thought, "I should rubber-band the knobs of the cabinet so she can't do that anymore." In the minute that all this passed, she had already gotten back in the drawer.

I had a coworker who also had a ferret and he said he had to be careful if he left a shirt on his bed - since he'd often find the ferret asleep in one of the sleeves...

They always know where the food is stored. My cat will open the pantry and chew open the dog food bag!

He was a sweetheart and this was the ideal home for him since he had several vets on site whenever he had issues. He got around pretty well and the vet techs made various coverall "pants" for him. He was also the "greeter," so he was very popular and one of the techs told me that he could tell if an animal was especially ill and made it a point to sit with them while they were waiting.

But Prince (orange tabby) also had one bad habit. They stored prescription pet foods there and at night Prince he'd rip into the bags and make himself sick, not a good thing for a cat with health issues, so they finally had to shut him in at night. He was also very popular among the clients and people brought him gifts, but I was told that he couldn't accept anything edible!

it was about 9:00PM I was sitting at the desk streaming some TV and I heard the door rattle and I went to let him in. I almost opened the door without looking. I'm glad I looked, it was a couple of raccoons. Did they learn from watching the cat or, is a neighbor feeding the critters from their backdoor?

he opens the door on one end, tunnels his way
around the blind corner and comes out behind the drawers into a slot cabinet.

He also digs in my linen drawer and in the drawers under my bed. I will wake up in the morning with t shirts slung all over the place
