I got tickets to his touring lecture Horizons in May. He has a natural talent for explaining complex science topics in laymen terms and has an infectious enthusiasm for the cosmos. Neil deGrasee Tyson is good but IMO Brian Cox is the one worthy successor to Carl Sagan and is well-beloved in the amateur astronomy community.

Fun fact Brian Cox was also the keyboardist in the 90's British pop group D:Ream known for their hit single "Things Can Only Get Better"

... course I was learning Newtonian Physics on a slide rule in the Navy after not quite grasping it in college. It was obsolete before I even learned it.
