They said I had an appointment with them to fix my fence on October 7 and they took $227.20 out of my bank account.
My fence is fine and I never had an appointment with them. They gave me back %50 and kept the rest of my money.
I can't afford this kind of misunderstanding. According to their records Eddie called me 4 times and came by my house. I never got a call and no one ever came by my house. I don't know who Eddie is
I don't know what to do or who to call!
Can someone help me?

(8,261 posts)Tell the bank that you are willing to be the complainant when charges are pressed. Your bank let an unauthorized party have access to your account. Let them do the work.

(3,017 posts)How did they get access to your bank account to pull $227 out?

(17,781 posts)Common stuff, unfortunately, so your bank has set processes and protocols to handle situations just like this.

They backed down real fast... Bad story

(115,280 posts)contractors and other service providers, and it included reviews so you could decide for yourself whether you wanted to contact or hire them. I had pretty good luck with people I found on Angie's list. Under their new model, though, you tell them you need a plumber (for example), and the plumbers on their list can contact you. So then you have to deal with a zillion people contacting you, only to find out that they don't or can't do the work you need. I tried that once, got zero useable results, but "Angi" kept pestering me for weeks afterwards anyhow.

We appreciate your time for getting back to us and we apologize for any confusion this has caused you.
We understand where you're coming from and as we further verified this situation, generally, we aren't able to refund cancellation fees. However, not to worry though, we're able to make a one time exception on your account. As a courtesy, we've issued the remaining amount of $113.60 refunded back to your card ending ****. As a result, we were now able to refund the total cost of $227.20. This will be posted to your account within the next 3-5 business days.

This sounds like a bunch of word salad double-talk but I'm glad you're getting your money back.
