I'll say it.....Michael Keaton is one of the best actors
ever!
I'm watching the mini-series, Dopesick, and he's just sooooooo good in such an understated way. So far this series is riveting.

3. yellowdogintexas....That's the word....Michael Keaton is extraordinary.
He also seems very selective about the roles he'll choose. I just get the feel that his level of integrity is very uncommon.
Also, Peter Sarsgaard is excellent as always. I'm on the third episode, and this series has exceeded my expectations. |

4. He seems to dominate the screen.
I saw him in a Spider-Man movie, wasn’t expecting much. But, he really does seem to just quietly take over every scene he appears in.
He’s a great actor. |

5. Cracklin Charlie....
That's it! He's so subtle but before you know it he's transfixing (that's probably a contradiction and therein lies his magic).....

6. It definitely seems magical.
I know nothing about acting, I don’t really watch a whole lot of movies, I don’t know anything about making movies.
But, some of these folks seem to have an ability to jump right off the screen, and into your soul. Keaton is one. I think Robin Williams was another. Several of the actors in “The Help” have the ability. I don’t understand it, but I do recognize it. |

7. I've never seen him in anything bad
He's really diverse. Watched Pacific Heights the other day, and he is excellent as a bad guy. Hilarious in Beetlejuice.
Fun fact: His girlfriend used to be Courteney Cox. |

8. I don't believe that he has ever given a bad performance
He's been in some films that I overall didn't care for, but Keaton himself is consistently wonderful onscreen.
And in spring of 2000 I passed him on concrete steps leading to a TGIFridays in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. |

11. Just finished Dopesick.
Watched it over 2 days....his best performance, ever, IMHO. He just seemed to understand that role, like he lived it.
I've been a fan for decades as well. I think the 1st time he came on my radar was in "Nightshift". A low budget screwball comedy with Henry Winkler. He was perfectly cast in that role. |
