I had a test last week, negative, but am going for another, just to make sure, because this cold sure is hanging on.

I got an oximeter to finger-check my 02 levels (normal).
And goodness knows, I didn't lose my sense of taste (thanksgiving mashed potatoes tasted GREAT).
But it doesn't hurt to make sure.

AND That is how you'll pick up a cold (or flu) despite all other efforts you are taking--especially & even if you routinely mask in indoor settings with strangers.

I'm noticing more and more people not wearing masks. This, despite most of the stores now requesting everyone wear a mask, while shopping, regardless of their vaccination status.

I'm glad I can get to the stores as soon as they open, in the morning, or early enough to avoid as many people as possible.

This is the longest stretch I've ever gone without even a case of sniffles.

Feeling like I'd caught a cold used to be an inconvenience. Now I believe it would be a major anxiety trigger.

He went to Walgreens to get a test kit but they were all out so he went to urgent care to get a test there. They couldn't get any results to him until today, and since my friend didn't want to take any chances he declined an invitation to a Thanksgiving dinner.

As it turns out, apparently he has a cold. He is feeling much better today.

I think most of us are no longer used to getting colds and always assume the worst.

Tested negative for covid. Really kicking his butt, though.
